For many rural families in Malawi, agriculture is the cornerstone of food security, livelihoods and economic opportunity yet climate change brings droughts, floods and poor harvests. Women and young people are particularly affected despite their vital role in agriculture.
The Climate Resilience and Agribusiness Programme supports women, youth and smallholder farmers to adopt climate-smart practices including conservation agriculture, drought-tolerant crops, irrigation, rainwater harvesting, agroforestry and sustainable livestock management. We also help participants turn farming into profitable enterprises through entrepreneurship, financial literacy, value addition, post-harvest management and market linkages.

Working with government, private sector, financial institutions and communities, the programme strengthens food security, creates employment, increases incomes and builds resilient rural businesses. Our goal is to help communities move beyond surviving climate shocks toward sustainable livelihoods and lasting prosperity.
Train farmers for promoting conservation agriculture, drought-tolerant crops, integrated soil fertility management, agroforestry and sustainable farming practices.
Supporting rainwater harvesting, solar-powered irrigation, drip irrigation and efficient water management to enable year-round agricultural production.
Building entrepreneurship, business management, financial literacy and leadership skills to help women and young people establish and grow profitable agricultural enterprises.
Strengthening post-harvest handling, agro-processing, product quality, packaging, market linkages and access to local and regional markets.
Promoting climate-resilient livestock production, including poultry, goats, pigs, beekeeping, aquaculture and integrated crop-livestock farming.
Restoring degraded land through agroforestry, soil and water conservation, watershed management and community-led climate adaptation initiatives.
