Program Overview

Michelle Obama said "There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish"

At Girl Engineer, we believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to look at a problem and say, "I can solve this."

Our STEM Education and Innovation Program creates safe spaces where girls aged 10–24 can explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through practical, hands-on experiences. Through school-based STEM clubs, coding, robotics, digital skills, innovation challenges, mentorship and leadership activities, girls are encouraged to experiment, ask questions, make mistakes and try again.

For a girl who may have once believed that engineering or technology was "not for her," building her first project or successfully writing her first piece of code can be a powerful turning point. We want every girl to see herself not only as a learner, but as a future engineer, scientist, innovator, and leader.

Core Activities

Featured Activities for STEM
Education and Innovation

Virtual Reality STEM Club

Virtual Reality (VR) transforms passive learning into active, immersive experiences by placing students inside virtual worlds where they explore complex STEM concepts and practise dangerous science experiments or technical vocational tasks without any real-world risk.

Girls Code

Girls develop mobile and web applications that address challenges in their communities using user-friendly coding platforms such as Scratch, App Inventor, and Thunkable.

Stop Motion Animation

The Stop Motion Animation activity introduces girls to storytelling, creativity, and digital media by teaching them how to create animated videos using everyday objects and simple digital tools.

STEM Tour

Through STEM Tours, girls explore a wide range of STEM careers, learn about the skills and qualifications required for these careers, and discover how they can use STEM to make a positive impact on society.

STEM Role Model

Girls interact with women working in different STEM fields, gaining insights into their career journeys, experiences, and the skills needed to succeed. These role models inspire girls to pursue STEM careers by showing them the opportunities available and how women can use STEM to create meaningful change.

Artificial Intelligence

Girls learn how to create and train simple AI models using Machine Learning for Kids and integrate these models into interactive Scratch projects.
